About
I am a Canberra-based artist and have been painting since 1985. I am self-taught and work primarily in oils and drawing, with a particular interest in Australian landscapes and portraiture.
The Australian Impressionists have been an enduring influence on my work, particularly Sir Arthur Streeton and his remarkable interpretation of light, colour and the Australian landscape.
I was also fortunate to paint with the late Australian artist and master portrait painter Reginald Campbell. His approach to painting and portraiture had a significant influence on the development of my own work.
Over the past four decades, I have continued to develop my own style while maintaining a strong connection to traditional painting techniques. I am particularly drawn to capturing the character, atmosphere and natural beauty of the subjects I paint. Ultimately, my goal is to create art that resonates with people and brings lasting enjoyment.
This website brings together a selection of my original artworks and previously completed paintings. I invite you to browse the gallery and get in touch regarding available works or commissions.
